While helping a client with the overall layout of their house, which is probably one of my favorite parts of my job we came into the kitchen to talk about what she wanted.
I normally ask my clients to gather some inspiration pics for our initial meetings so that I can get a better feeling of the type of space they want to achieve.
She was so overwhelmed by all the options she had for the kitchen that she came with tons of pictures, all in different styles, colors, finishes, and layouts. She found it so hard to narrow down even the color that she wanted to work with.
So this post is for you if you find yourself overwhelmed by the options you have, here are my favorite 24 modern neutral paint colors for your kitchen remodel.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT NEUTRALS
Neutral paint colors are more than just beiges. Neutrals have come a long way in the last couple of years and the general acceptance of the wide range of colors in neutral has also grown.
Neutrals range from shades of white to black, in all types of color ranges, with many undertones, and opacity.
Neutral paint colors aren’t only a thing you should consider for your walls, in fact cabinets in a variety of neutral tones is one of my favorite trends and the perfect space to really personalize your kitchen.
KITCHENS WITH NEUTRAL PAINT COLORS
Painting your kitchen cabinets is one of the easiest and most cost effective improvements you can do to your kitchen if you don’t have the budget for doing a complete upgrade and getting new cabinets.
There are tons of inspiration images I could put together for you, but sometimes too many options aren’t the best way to go, it can be overwhelming.
I decided to organize the inspiration pictures by color, this way it can be easier for you to decide which color you like best and then start analyzing variations of that color in order to narrow your options.
To make it even better I put together a FREE pdf for you with my 24 favorite neutrals, I included swatches of the colors and also the names so that you are able to find them easily. These Colors will work perfectly for cabinets or walls in your home. Feel free to grab it by clicking the buttons below.
WHITE
White is a tricky color. There I said it.
It’s hard to get the white shade that gives you exactly the look you are going for. I always insist that it’s EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you test a color out before buying it is even more important with whites.
The undertones in white can change it from modern to traditional.
A white kitchen will never go out of style, and paired with the perfect hardware and finishes can be as much of a statement kitchen as the boldest of colors.
TAUPE
Taupe is another one of the tricky colors, don’t get me wrong the finish is going to be FABULOUS but once you find the right shade for your space.
Undertones play a big part in how the color will look in your space, and that is why I encourage you to sample paint colors while you get familiar with undertones and the effect they fave.
Undertones are the secrete every color has, once you mix paints to achieve a color you are going to have undertones and their effects.
GRAY
The range of grays is really vast, and the undertones also play a role in the way it looks.
When choosing the cabinet colors make sure to have a floor, countertop, and wall tile sample because you will need all these elements to work together and not clash.

GREEN
I know that green isn’t typically considered a neutral, but trust me that once you have the right tone of green it won’t compete for attentions and will complement your space.
It’s also one of the least expected color choice for a kitchen so it’s sure to be THE statement piece that I know deep down you are craving.
BLUE
Blue is one of my favorite colors, in all of its variations.
I can’t really help it I feel drawn to it and even if you think blue is cool there are also warm shades of blues if that is the look you are going for.
When paired with the right hardware for the look you are going after it can make the finishes stand out and become centerpiece.
BLACK
Yes BLACK, it’s a neutral.
And black paint, just like white, has variations to it.
Black is always going to be classy and depending on the hardware and finishes you have in your space it can go from traditional to ultra-modern.
